So, yes, number fourteen is Smiljan Radic, a Chilean Architect who I can honestly say I wasn't too sure what he'd done until I went directly to google and it helpfully reminded me of the bus stops he did for Austrian Village of Krumbach last year. This submission appears to be a departure from his other projects lovely formality in timber and metal. It would have been a delight to see something similar to his 'Copper House' but good on him for doing something outside the comfort zone.
The design looks like the cloud structures that can been seen in art installations some times. It is semi-translucent, cylindrical and sits on large quarry stones giving the pavilion an interesting contrasting pallet of materials. It is futuristic but soft, coming to touch down on a Neolithic site surrounded by manicured grass. I looking forward to the real thing...
