Donald Judd over for Tea.

There's been a buzz about the internet about Donal Judd's appartment being renovated and put on dispaly to the public.

The artist and his family owned and ocupied this whole building until his death in 1994 at which time the 11 year project to renovat and restore the building began. While most of the niegbouring buildings where subdevided in to smaller units for rent, this building remained open plan with floor to cieling windows.

Donald Judd's Loft
Im not really conviced that Judd ever lived like this - the freaking pillows would fall of the bed in the night!

There was an acumilation of over 1000 individual peices of work upon the inventory of his place after his death, and while his work is all lovely stright lines and order, I imagin his place, like every artists studio, to be a squalid warren of all sorts of stuffs of every category. The sort of set ups described by idiots as 'organised chaos'. While the actual house was a domain maintatined as an entirly seperet entaty.

This place reminds me of the Mexican architect Luis Barragan whose home is also a museum. I think they have a lot of style in common.
