Horray and conragtulations to Benedatta Tagliabue for winning the RIBA Jencks Award!
Actaully this was anounced back in October but she now has the award in her hand after the awards ceremoney was held this week past in London.
The Jencks Award is given every year to an individual who 'has recently made a major international contribution to both the theory and practice of architecture.' Miralles Tagliabue is the director of EMBT works on all the good stuff like public spaces, rehabilitation and interior design. She won the RIBA Stirling Prize-winning Scottish Parliament, and worked on high profile projects like Diagonal Mar Park, the Santa Caterina market in Barcelona, and the Spanish Pavilion at the 2010 Shanghai World Expo and is currently working on asian projects include The Business School of Fudan University in Shanghai.
Phew a busy lady, not like we're all not busy. So busy in fact I can't find any comment about it. Which surprises me with all the 'women in architecture' chat that's fizzing about. O well...
