This is a Funny One.

Not 'haha' funny but makes me confused.

I clicked on this because I liked the look of this building, but on reading the blerb it made me feel funny.

This is a mixed use building for artists in residence by SKEW. The intent of the architect in this project, is to create a building that has a seamless relationship between artist production and the visitors consumption so that visitors can be reconnected with the process of production.

Hats of for the reuse of industrial sites and the other conscious innovations that have gone in to the actual building of the project but I can't help the question mark in my mind. What has middle class artist in residence visitor centre have to do with the social and environmental responsibility of consumer goods? I understand that we live in an age where many people are no longer making the connecting with the origins and production of the goods they consume. But I don't really understand how by seeing a painter at work is really going to influence people in their supermarket choices.

Not sure. Read it here.
