Is it okay that I like Nazi Architecture?

I was reading about Berlin's Tempelhof Airport recently, I am awash with gladness to know that the plan to build a 4,700 strong faceless housing complex on the site has been blocked by public vote.

Just to bring you up to speed, Tempelhof Airport was built the 1920's and was instrumental in WWII and the Cold War. You can read all about the finer historical points on wiki. It was closed in 2008 and as you'd expect there's been quite a bit of debate about what to do. with this giant space in the heart of the city.

In fact what the Berlin City Council decided to simply open the airport to the public with out any changes, and it has become an super popular impromptu urban park for literally everyone from kite-flyers to roller-bladers and their dogs. This is what filled me with delight. This great public denouncement of 'structured' parks and 'facilities'.

Sorry the sensational title lead you to believe I was going to wax lyrical about Ernst Sagbiel. The honest truth is I'm more a Albert Speer or Troost kinda girl. If you gotta have fascist archtiecture then you can't neglect the classics!
