I'm sure you've probably seen this article from the New York times making the rounds on the news feeds.
I found it quite interesting. Its an example of the evolution of settlements in hyper speed. This new city of Zaatari, located just over the Syrian boarder is fast becoming a massive informal metropolis of about 85,000 and counting.
